HISTORY:
Taylorsville First Baptist Church was founded on October 6, 1851. The church has been a leader for Christ in this community from the beginning with a spirit of service to all in Alexander County and areas beyond.
First Baptist helped organize the Taylorsville Baptist Association, and the first Vacation Bible School in the area. The church also contributed to the establishment of the Alexander Chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous, the first Christian daycare in the area, and the Christian Crisis Center. These ministries continue to be supported by FBC members, who are also active in worship and ministry at the Alexander Correctional Institute. Each fall, FBC serves as a collection site for Operation Christmas Child. FBC also supports local, state, national, and international missions. Members of First Baptist are always seeking ways to serve the community of Taylorsville and follow the call of Christ to make themselves minister of the Gospel.
In 2000, the church family decided to step out in faith and build a multi-purpose building as they sought to continue the vision and dreams that had begun so many years ago. The Christian Life Center is used by the church and the community, providing further opportunities to extend Christ's love to others.

of salvation in our community and world.
The message and purpose of the church is: "Serving You by loving all."
